The Indiana State Medical Association says it's mulling over a measure proposed by two state senators who oppose abortion.
Listen:
Senators Dennis Kruse and Jim Banks co-authored Senate Bill 101. The measure would direct the Indiana Health Department to print pamphlets about the procedure and doctors would distribute them to women considering abortion. Mike Rinebold is Director of Government Relations for the Indiana State Medical Association.
He says his group is most concerned about preserving the patient-doctor relationship. Rinebold says the organization isn't taking sides on the issue, but is working with lawmakers and determing the possible impact.
