Indianapolis Public Schools Police are looking for a person whom they say helped prompt a lockdown of Northwest High School.
Witnesses told police they saw three students chasing and firing a BB gun at a fourth student outside the school this morning. The school was placed on lockdown around 10:00am.
IPS spokesman John Althardt says two of the students were captured by police and that another student went inside the school with what appeared to be four welts, believed to have been caused by B-B pellets. Althardt says the injuries to the student are not thought to be serious and that the student's parents have been notified.
IPS Police have not released a description of the person still at large. Althardt says students inside the high school were never in danger, but he was uncertain as to whether the lockdown was still in effect.
