A boy abducted from LaGrange County, Indiana nearly 20 years ago at the age of five is alive and well.
Richard Landers, Jr. is married now and living in Long Prairie, Minnesota. He was abucted from Indiana by his paternal grandparents in 1994 in a child custody dispute. When the grandparents hadn't been found by 2008, potential charges were dropped.
But now, investigators, prompted by new information provided by his parents, were able to trace him by his Social Security number. In a prepared statement, Sheriff Terry Martin says, "It’s nice to put closure to this case and now the family can begin the process of re-connecting with their loved one. This is an example of inter-agency cooperation, both here in Indiana and in Minnesota that allowed this almost 19 year case to come to a successful conclusion."
