Federal officials from three agencies are taking a tour with Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard today (Friday).
Listen:
Officials from the Environmental Protection Agency, Housing and Urban Development and Department of Transportation are touring selected sites in Indianapolis. They're getting a first hand look at how federal money and rules have benefitted city projects. It's part of what's called the Partnership for Sustainable Communities. Mayor Ballard says the effort is about what the federal government and the city can do better and what's working.
Ballard says several environmental projects like Brownfield remediation, the Indy Cultural Trail and Virginia Avenue as examples of projects that are working. The Mayor says he's meeting with federal officials again next week at the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
