Harlem Globetrotter Handles Franklin spoke to students Friday at Bridgeport Elementary School about bullying.
Listen:
Handles passed on the "ABC's of Bullying Prevention", which was designed in coordination with the National Campaign to Stop Violence. The interactive program focuses on Action, Bravery, and Compassion.
Handles showed off his ball-handling skills for the kids while teaching them the ABC's. Handles got the kids involved by playing games, helping them spin some basketballs and scream out answers to anti-bullying questions. He also passed on the advice that the students should listen to their parents, teachers and principal. He said he wouldn't have made half the mistakes in his life, if he had taken that advice.
Handles and the rest of the team take their world tour to Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 2pm Monday.
