Police Searching for Hit-and-Run Vehicle

Driver struck and critically injured 13-year-old

Metro Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that critically injured a 13-year-old girl.

IMPD Officer Kendale Adams says officers were called to Wish Park in the 2500 block of Westlane Road on a report that someone had been struck by a car.  Officers found the 13-year-old girl lying in a parking lot suffering from "significant" injuries.  She was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in critical condition.  The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Detectives have determined the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a black male, fled the scene.  It's believed to be a 1992 to 1999 white Chevrolet Surburban with the letter "w" in the license plate.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
