It has been very cold in Central Indiana.
Listen:
Now get ready for a roller coaster ride this coming week. National Weather Service Meteorologist Chad Swain says temperatures will warm up into the 30s today (Sunday). He says the warming trend will continue Monday and Tuesday with temperatures hitting near 60 Tuesday. He says we should expect some rain, possibly thunderstorms.
Swain says low pressure to the South will help warm things up. However, he adds a cold front is right behind that and it means temperatures will cool down again Wednesday and really drop again into the teens and 20s on Thursday and Friday. Swain says the below normal temperatures will hang around beyond next week.
Swain says the average overall January temperature in Indiana is around 28 degrees. Swain says there's nothing especially unusual about the weather pattern. It's winter in Indiana.
