While crews were cleaning up the massive chain reaction crash on westbound I-70 in Hendricks County, another crash a few miles away left three elephants stranded on the road.

Indiana State Police say a trailer carrying the elephants was driving eastbound on I-70 and slid off the roadway.  The elephants were taken out of the trailer by their trainer while the trailer was pulled back onto the road.  The elephants were not injured in the incident.

State Police say the elephants were never loose or running free.  Once the trailer was back on the road, the elephants were reloaded into the trailer.
