TheraFlu and Triaminic have been pulled from shelves after problems with their child-resistant caps. Indiana Poison Control Center Director Dr. Jim Mowry says kids have been able to open the package and remove the caps, but the medication would seem as if it's still sealed.

Dr. Mowry says the medications contain many ingredients, like acetaminophen, which if enough was ingested could cause problems. He says they also contain antihistamines and decongestants, which could cause children to experience confusion, increased heart rate and increased blood pressure.

He says 100-percent childproof caps don't exist. He says the best practice is to keep medications in a locked cabinet out of the reach and sight of young kids.
