Monroe County Schools to Discuss Safety at Forum Tonight

The Monroe County School Corporation is tackling the issue of school safety tonight (Monday, Feb 11th).

Administrators, parents and students are gathering for a forum at Jackson Creek Middle School in Bloomington. School & Community Services Director Beverly Smith says it's part of a discussion about recent tragedies in Newtown, Connecticut and Alabama.

Smith says it's an opportunity for Monroe County Schools to re-evaluate safety plans. Smith says student and staff safety is already a top priority, but they want to maximize any new possibilities. The forum is free and open to the public and being at 7 pm.
