Two men are dead after a shooting and car chase which began in Greenwood Wednesday afternoon.

Greenwood Police say officers were called to the Devonshire Apartments, just off State Road 135, shortly before 1 p.m. on a report of a domestic violence dispute.  A woman called police saying her estranged husband entered her apartment with a gun and threatened to shoot her and her boyfried.  The woman was able to escape to a neighbor's apartment but did not know what happened to the two men.

Police entered the apartment and found the woman's boyfriend suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  He was taken to Community South Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The woman gave police her estranged husband's address and description of his vehicle.

Around 3:15, officers with the U.S. Marshalls Task Force, IMPD and Indiana State Police found the suspect sitting in his truck in a Meijer Parking lot in the 10500 block of Heartland Boulevard in Camby.  When officers arrived, the man fled the scene and a short chase ensued.  The suspect then left the road and struck several trees before crashing into a house in the 8600 block of Youngs Creek Lane.

Officers found the suspect unresponsive with a gun next to him.  Police believe he suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.  He was taken to Wishard Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released the names of the suspect or victims pending notification of family.
