Indiana FFA members fan out this week to talk up the organization's advantages to their peers in middle and high schools across the state.
Governor Pence and Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann joined about 100 FFA members at the statehouse to formally kick off National FFA Week. Group members served as legislative pages for the day.
Indiana FFA president Cameron Mann of Cloverdale says students from rural communities already know the importance of agriculture and the FFA, but students from urban and suburban schools may not have thought about the group's leadership training aspects. The week's outreach efforts range from formal talks in schools to more casual gatherings like bowling nights.
