IPS Names Former Warren Twp. Superintendent to Interim Chief
Dr. Peggy Hinkley
The Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) will soon have an interim superintendent.
Dr. Peggy Hinckley is scheduled to start on March 4. The IPS board will vote Tuesday night on whether to formalize the hire. She would remain in the role until a permanent superintendent is hired to replace Dr. Eugene White who will retire on April 5.
IPS Board President Diane Arnold said, “We are fortunate to have someone with Dr. Hinckley’s experience accept this responsibility. We look forward to working with her while proceeding with the search and hiring of a new Superintendent.”
Dr. Hinckley retired in December after serving for 11 years as Superintendent of Warren Township Schools. She was selected in 2012 as Superintendent of the Year by members of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents. Dr. Hinckley has also been superintendent of LaPorte Community School Corporation, and Hobart Township Schools.
