A burglary suspect remains at large after authorities say he fatally shot a 67-year-old man and fled with his car.
Listen:
IMPD Spokesman Kendale Adams says it happened just after 6:30 Friday morning at 7822 Harcourt Springs. Adams says officers found 67-year-old Thomas Tefft dead in the home from an apparent gunshot wound. They also found the man's frightened wife on the scene. Adams says she had locked herself in a room for safety.
The suspect escaped in the couple's black 2009 Hyundai Sonata. It has an Indiana Wesleyan license plate number IW813. The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties. He was wearing a ski mask during the incident. Adams says they're done questioning the wife and don't know why the man shot Tefft. The investigation is ongoing.
