Metro Police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured on the city's north side Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 4600 block of Winthrop Avenue around 1:00 p-m on a report that a person had been shot. When they arrived, officers found an unidentified man in the front yard of a home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. A second man was found in the 4600 block of Carvel Avenue who had also been shot.
IMPD Officer Kendale Adams says it appears the second victim, after being shot, ran to Carvel Avenue where he was encountered by an IMPD officer who attempted first aid until EMS personnel arrived. Both victims were taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, one in critical condition and the other in serious condition.
Investigators have a vague description of a suspect who was seen fleeing southbound on Winthrop wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information into the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
