Hoosiers Moms on Both Sides of Gun Debate Meet at Statehouse

The debate over guns and gun rights remains lively at the Indiana Statehouse.

That's where Hoosiers held dueling demonstrations outside the east entrance. Nicki McNally was among members of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense In America. McNally says they want universal background checks for all gun sales on the federal level, limiting high-capacity magazines to ten rounds or less, banning assault weapons and making gun-trafficking a federal crime. McNally says they respect the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms, but adds there are too many people who have illegal access to guns.

Meantime, Melinda Porter of Indiana Moms Against Gun Control says guns aren't the problem and more laws aren't going to change anything. Porter says she wants to be able to protect her children and doesn't want anyone to take that right away.
