Governor Mike Pence says he's committed to finding ways to provide all schools in Indiana with armed school resource officers.
The Governor says Indiana is the only state that requires public safety officers and plans for all schools. However, he says he's open to proposals that will provide proper resources and training.
Pence says he favors local school districts and parents being able to decide what works best. Still, the Governor says he'd like to see all schools to have properly, trained armed school resource officers. The Governor's comments follow the Indiana House Education Committee's passage of a bill that mandates the move.
