A national convention of G.I. Joe collectors has gotten underway with an airborne Easter egg hunt.

Dozens of G.I. Joes parachuted off the fourth floor of a downtown parking garage to a throng of waiting kids -- and far more adults -- in Indianapolis for the weekend convention honoring the classic toy.

Organizers expect about 3,000 people for a weekend of panel discussions, autograph signings and other activities centered on the toy with the kung fu grip. The guest list includes Mary McDonald-Lewis and Bill Ratner, who supplied the voices of Lady Jaye and Flint for the G.I. Joe TV cartoon in 1985 and 1986.
