Economist Dives Into Latest Unemployment Numbers
The most recent unemployment numbers are out and the rate is down to 7.6-percent, but one economist says it was a bad month.
Mike Hicks of Ball State University says not as many jobs were created and many people are leaving the workforce. Hicks says the country could be seeing a growth in the "shadow economy", which means people are working, but they're not claiming the employment.
Hicks says that's a bad sign since it indicates it's just transient employment. Hicks says a factor is the tax increase implement three months ago. Hicks adds that sequestration cuts aren't felt yet, but they will start to affect numbers in the near future.
