Indianapolis city officials and a Wisconsin-based developer broke ground on a $30 million mixed-use development.

May 2014 is the completion time for Hendricks Commercial Properties' new "Ironworks" project. The Beloit, Wisconsin developer is building a 36,000 square foot development on the southwest corner of Keystone and 86th Street near Keystone at the Crossing.

Hendricks President Rob Gerbitz says the development will include commercial retail and restaurants on the ground floor, 120 high-end apartments on upper floors and 500 underground and surface parking spaces. Gerbitz says he's finalizing plans for the nationally-known restaurant that will anchor Ironworks. He says they will announce more about the project in about a week. Gerbitz says Indiana's business-friendly climate helped lure his company.
