The NFL Draft is just over a week away and NFL executives are getting down to crunch time on who to select in the two-day event. The Colts' first pick is no. 24 in the first round.
Colts General Manager Ryan Grigson says if there is a "sure-fire starter, or at least an eventual starter" there they'll take him. He says if there isn't that type of player available, they'll trade down. The team is in a different position than last year, when Grigson says he saw "gaping holes" in the team. They've been able to add many pieces through free agency this off-season, so the holes don't need to be filled through the draft.
The team has two fewer draft picks this season. They lost a 2nd-rounder, and a 5th-rounder in trades last season. The draft begins on April 25th in New York City. The team began off-season workouts on Wednesday.
