At a news conference Thursday, federal officials released photos of two suspects believed to be involved with the bombings Monday at the Boston Marathon which left three people dead and numerous others injured.
The suspects, named simply "Suspect 1" and "Suspect 2," were found on surveillance video (seen below) near the scene where the bombings took place. Special Agent in Charge Richard DeLauriers said other parts of the video also show the second suspect setting down a backpack at the site of the second explosion shortly before the bomb went off.
"Suspects 1 and 2 appear to be walking together through the marathon crowd on Boylston Street in the direction of the finish line," DeLauriers said.
"Suspect 1" is described as wearing a dark hat and "Suspect 2" is described as wearing a backwards white hat. DeLauriers said anyone who may see the suspects should not approach them and instead should call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
