Needed Supplies Delivered For Elwood Flood Victims

Flood victims in Elwood are finding relief from caring neighbors.

Hundreds of residents impacted by flooding were able to pick up some needed supplies over the weekend. Donated items like diapers, baby food, bottled water, snacks, cleaning kits, and bleach were dropped off by the truckload.

The relief effort will continue. Case workers will be available this week to schedule clean up help and meet with flood victims regarding other needs they may have.

City officials are still assessing damage, but recovery will likely cost millions. The hope is that federal assistance will help Elwood and others areas of the state recover from the spring floods.
