A man struck on Interstate 465 on Indianapolis' northeast side was likely trying to commit suicide, state police said.

The incident happened just after 12:30 p.m. Friday in the northbound lanes near 56th Street.  Police said the man ran or jumped onto the interstate and was dodging cars before he was struck.

The man survived the crash and was taken to a local hospital.

The southbound lanes were closed Friday afternoon but later reopened.
