Serial Bank Robber Arrested in Hancock County

Suspect was already in jail on unrelated charges


Police have arrested a man accused of eight robberies in Marion County in the past three months, including six bank robberies.

Chancley Podniestrzanski is now faces eight felony counts of robbery.  He was already being held in the Hancock County Jail on burglary charges when an IMPD officer, attending a regional investigators meeting in Hancock County, noticed he matched the description of the suspect in the Marion County robberies.

After being interviewed by detectives, Podniestrzanski confessed to the robberies.  He remains in the Hancock County Jail on the earlier burglary charges.
