Metro Police have arrested a man believed to be the driver in a hit-and-run crash in downtown Indianapolis last week.
IMPD Officer Kendale Adams says 20-year-old Corey Dunz was arrested Wednesday after detectives located his vehicle which had damage consistent with the crash and the victim's injuries. Adams says Dunz told police he was driving the car when the crash occurred.
The victim, 46-year-old David Heady of Indianapolis, suffered a severe leg injury in the crash. He was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital where his leg was later amputated because of the severity of the injury.
Dunz is currently being held in the Arrestee Processing Center and faces a preliminary felony charge of failure to stop at a serious bodily injury crash.
