Officials Warn About Dangers of Texting and Driving


State leaders are urging Indiana motorists about the dangers of texting and driving.


The latest survey shows adults are texting and driving even more than teens - 49% percent compared to 43%. The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute says those who text and drive are 23 times more likely to be involved in a crash.

That's why AT&T brought a driving simulator to Circle Centre Mall in Indianapolis Thursday. The simulator helps folks learn about the dangers of texting and driving. People can also check out an online driving simulator at  Also, Indiana State Police will be steppiing up road patrols Memorial Day through Labor Day in an effort to crackdown on the practice.
