A 37 year member of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office was terminated Friday by Sheriff John Layton.

Matthew Milharcic, 58,  was reportedly arrested by Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputies for operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content in excess of the legal limit.

At the time of the arrest, Milharcic was allegedly operating an unmarked MCSO motor vehicle.  Milharcic formerly served as a Lieutenant in the Criminal Warrants Section.

Sheriff Layton stated “This arrest was most unfortunate. Matthew Milharcic had been a good officer for many years. I thank the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office for getting Milharcic off the road without incident. Once again, we have demonstrated that no one is above the law, and we have zero tolerance for lawbreakers of all types.”
