INDYCAR Announces New President of Operations & Competition

A veteran race team executive will become the new INDYCAR president of operations and competition on the day after the Indianapolis 500.
Derrick Walker, 68, is general manager of Ed Carpenter Racing. He will oversee competition and technical elements while seeking to contain costs, enhance safety and promote innovation.
Walker has more than a quarter century of IndyCar experience as an owner, executive and mechanic. He worked for Roger Penske for 13 years.
