7-Year-Old Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run

Metro Police are searching for a vehicle which struck a seven-year-old boy on the city's south side Wednesday night.

IMPD Officer Kendale Adams says officers were called to the intersection of East Troy Avenue and Walcott Street on a report of a hit-and-run collision.  When they arrived, officers found the seven-year-old lying in the street.

The boy was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in critical condition.

Witnesses say an maroon, older model vehicle, possibly an Oldsmobile Delta 88, was traveling eastbound on Troy when the boy was struck as he was attempting to cross the street.  The vehicle did not stop and continued going east on Troy.

Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
