The Pacers have drafted small forward Solomon Hill with their first pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
Hill, the 23rd overall pick in the draft, spent four years at the University of Arizona. He averaged 13.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists during his senior year with the Wildcats. Hill had two pre-draft workouts with the Pacers and said after his second that he was thankful for the opportunity to show what he could do on the court.
Two of Indiana University's top basketball stars are also now part of the NBA. Junior Guard Victor Oladipo was selected second overall by the Orlando Magic. Last season, Oladipo averaged 13.6 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Hoosiers. Oladipo told ESPN he thinks he'll be a good fit for the young Orlando team. "I definitely think playing for a young team will definitely help the program. We'll definitely grow as a young team and essentially win games down the road."
His teammate, Cody Zeller, was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats with the fourth overall pick. The sophomore power forward averaged 16.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game last season. Zeller told ESPN, "You don't know what to expect with this NBA draft, but that was one of my high choices. I love Charlotte as a town and the organization seems to be headed in the right direction."
