An Indianapolis Colt is sitting in jail in Washington, D.C.. 25-year-old safety Joe Lafeged--from nearby Germantown, Maryland--was arrested early Saturday morning with a second man, identified as 23-year-old Timothy Wilson, on various weapons charges.
Investigators say the two were passengers in a car that fled from a traffic stop. They jumped out of the car with the driver who managed to escape. Investigators Saturday were still working to determine the driver's identity and location.
"At this point we don't have a disposition...until a judge makes a determination," said Offficer Araz Alali. "In addition, we're a little bit unique. We have all the criminal offenses prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's office."
Alali said Lefeged and Wilson were being arraigned on charges of carrying a firearm without license, unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
There has been no comment from the Colts.
