Summit Lake State Park Hosts Native American Weekend

It's Native American weekend at Summit Lake State Park near New Castle.

The Department of Natural Resources is hosting the weekend full of Native American crafts and music. Summit Lake Naturalist Amber Hook says festivities begin at 11a.m. Saturday with Native American artisans with pottery, finger weaving and scrimshaw. Hook says crafts are included with opportunities for attendees to make Native American art. T

he Miami Nation of Indiana will also play tribal drum music beginning at 7 p.m. at the campground. The concert and events are free, but a standard gate fee of $5 applies for in state vehicles.
