IMPD detectives have arrested two people for the death of a 15-month-old baby.
Police say 23-year-old Nikita Dunn and her live-in boyfriend, 27-year-old Darrell Daniels, each face a felony charge of neglect of a dependant causing death. Officers were called to a home in the 600 block of South Marion Avenue on May 4 on a report of an unresponsive child. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
RTV6 reports the child died from blunt force trauma and internal hemorrhaging. Officials said the injuries could have been treated and the child would have lived if medical care had been sought.
The suspects were taken into custody Saturday and are currently being held in the Marion County Jail. They are being held on $100,000 bond.
