The Indiana Republican Party convention will be held in Fort Wayne in 2014.
It's the first time Indiana Republicans have held the event outside Indianapolis. Last year, Democrats held their convention in the Summit City. Allen County GOP Chairman Steve Shine says he's excited for Fort Wayne to host the event.
"It's going to bring about a half a million dollars of revenue into the business community," Shine says. "It makes for a very, very strong Republican party of Allen County."
Next year's convention will choose the party nominees for secretary of state, treasurer and auditor. About 25,000 delegates will eat, buy hotel rooms and visit stores in Fort Wayne during the convention.
Meanwhile, the party committee voted unanimously to install former State Auditor Tim Berry as State Party Chairman. Berry then named Kyle Robertson as Executive Director.
