Crews worked well into the evening to bring an industrial fire under control just east of downtown Fort Wayne.

The broke out at a warehouse complex and continued for more than five hours. Flames shot more than 30 feet into the air at some points and the black smoke was easily visible throughout much of Allen County.

Witnesses say they believe oil and tires may have been stored in the buildings.  As many as six buildings were impacted by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Two firefighters were treated on the scene for minor injuries.
