Police Searching for Suspect in July Shooting

Metro Police detectives are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect in a shooting from July.


An arrest warrant has been issued for 27-year-old Troy Belk of Indianapolis who is accused of shooting 40-year-old Sylvester Kenny and 42-year-old Michael Spann during a robbery in the 700 block of North Chester Avenue on July 10.  Both victims survived their injuries.

Belk faces felony charges of aggravated battery, battery, robbery, criminal confinement and intimidation.

Belk is described as a black male, 5'9'', approximately 215 pounds with black hair.  Detectives believe Belk frequents The Meadows Apartments and various motels on the city's east side.

Police say Belk should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by anyone but police.  Anyone with information on Belk's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
