A Speedway father was arrested and charged in connection with pointing a gun at his 14-year-old daughter’s head as he threatened to kill her Thursday evening, police said.

The incident happened in the 2300 block of North Lynhurst Drive just after 8 p.m.

Police said Ronnie Brashear, 43, was drunk and eventually put down the gun and waited in his car for police to arrive.

Brashear was charged with criminal confinement, intimidation, pointing a firearm and criminal recklessness, police said.

Police said his daughter had texted a friend during the ordeal and asked for help.
