Indiana Incomes Are Lagging Behind Other States
Hoosier salaries are lagging behind other states...a lot of other states.
According to a Ball State University Study, Indiana ranks 40th out of 50 states when it comes to income. Matt Will, an economist with the University of Indianapolis, says Indiana is working to remedy this problem...however it may not be a huge problem.
Will says if you adjust for cost of living, Indiana runs in the middle of the pack when it comes to salaries.
If you take into account housing affordability, Will says Indiana is about 14th in the nation, so despite our lower income, quality of life for Hoosiers isn't as bad as the initial numbers would indicate.
