Two Arrested for Robbery of CVS Pharmacy
Police arrested two people Friday in connection with the robbery of a CVS Pharmacy on the city's north side Friday morning.
Police say 25-year-old Anthony Sharp and 18-year-old Demonte Jones, both of Indianapolis, face felony robbery charges after holding up the CVS in the 6500 block of Keystone Avenue around 9:00 a.m. Friday. The suspects implied to employees they had a weapon and demanded an undetermined amount of narcotics. The pharmacist complied with the suspect's demands.
The suspects left in a gray vehicle which was located in the 5400 block of Carvel Avenue. The suspects were taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported in the robbery.
The robbery was one of four which took place at various CVS stores. About 15 minutes after the first robbery on Keystone, another was reported at the CVS in the 5600 block of Georgetown Road. Around 10:30 a.m., a third robbery was reported in the 7200 block of Michigan Road. Police found a handwritten note in the parking lot demanding Percoet and Tussionex.
The fourth robbery occurred at the CVS at 38th and Illinois Streets. Police tell RTV6 a gun was shown during that robbery.
Investigators are working to determine if the robberies are related. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 262-TIPS.
