Greenwood Police arrested an Indianapolis man Tuesday on numerous felony charges including child molestation.
Police say Aja Roome, the ex-girlfriend of 28-year-old Justin Mahan, filed a harassment report on November 18 stating she had recently broken off their three-month relationship and felt Mahan had installed some type of spy program on her cell phone allowing him to track her location and read her text messages. Greenwood Police conducted a forensic analysis of her phone and commercially-available tracking software was discovered.
Mahan was arrested November 20 while sitting outside of Roome's apartment. He was taken into custody because he had an outstanding warrant out of Johnson County. Detectives seized his cell phone for forensic analysis.
While conducting the analysis, detectives discovered 14 images considered to be child pornography. Further investigation showed the images depicted Mahan engaging in various sexual acts with Roome's five-year-old daughter.
Mahan faces six felony counts of child molesting, 14 counts of child exploitation, and one count each of computer tampering and stalking.
