An Indianapolis man is behind bars after being arrested for the double homicide in Westfield last week.
Westfield Police say 20-year-old Christian Haley was arrested for the murders of 52-year-old Marylyn Erb and her 23-year-old daughter Kelley Erb. The victims were found in a home near 161st Street and Oak Road on December 20.
Haley faces two counts of murder, two counts of felony murder, and one count each of robbery, burglary and theft.
"Our police force worked tirelessly around the clock trying to solve this senseless crime," said Mayor Andy Cook in a statement. "Westfield prides itself in being named one of the best places to live and one of the safest communities in the country. The fast acting police work over the past few days proves that Westfield employs some of the best police officers in the state and will continue to be one of the safest cities in Indiana and the country."
Police say the victims' home was not randomly selected by Haley but no other information was released. He was interviewed by detectives and later taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
