Colts fans who can't make it to Lucas Oil Stadium this weekend will definitely get to see the game on television.
Meijer bought 1,200 tickets for Saturday's Colts-Chiefs playoff game. They'll be given to local military families. That makes the game a sellout and guarantees that it will be seen on local TV.
Larry Hall, Colts Vice President for Ticket Operations, says the way in which people live their lives likely contributed to the ticket sales issue. "Obviously the holidays, having to commit to something without knowing the day, date or time, to me, was probably the single biggest factor. It was late Sunday night, halftime of the Sunday night game, that they announced the actual day, date and time for all the playoff games this weekend.
Hall says he's been with the Colt's for 30 years, and admits that every year there is something to be learned. "If we can learn from this experience or others, we're going to do that and constantly try to make it about the fans. That's what we're really doing this for."
