Indy DPW on Pothole Patrol
Localities across the state are on pothole patrol.
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works alone has already gotten more than 500 complaints about potholes across the city. Spokesperson Stephanie Wilson says crews are currently out patching potholes with a temporary fix. Wilson says they're filling the largest, deepest potholes on main roads that have potential to cause the most damage first. She says they're seeing large potholes all over the county.
Wilson says the big temperature swing from frigid cold to 40-degree temperatures is helping to create more potholes. Wilson says they're filling the holes with an asphalt mix just to prevent damage to vehicles. Wilson says they'll do more comprehensive, permanent work on the roads at a later date.
