Indy Chamber Announces 2013 Job Moves


The Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce says 2013 was a job-making year.


The Indy Chamber released its 2013 economic development figures for the city and region Wednesday. The report says Marion County saw more than 4100 new job commitments, nearly 2500 retained jobs and more than $622 million in investments.

New firms that were either locating to or expanding in Central Indiana included: Ascension Health, Specialty Bakery, Gordman's in Hendricks County and Geico in Hamilton County. Geico is locating a customer service center in Carmel with plans to create up to 1200 new jobs by 2016.
