The trial resumes today for an Orange County man accused of injuring a 14-year-old boy during an exorcism in 2007.

Monroe County jurors were given a long weekend off, so a defense attorney could have time to review evidence against 24-year-old Eddie Uyesugi.

The former pastor-in-training at Cherry Hill Church is accused of battering the autistic boy during a ritualistic beating that lasted for eleven hours.

Uyesugi claims he was simply trying to restrain the victim. Prosecutors claim the teen suffered swelling and bruising that lasted for more than a week.

Uyessugi is also accused of causing the victim to vomit.
