Cable provider Comcast and Discovery Education are partnering to provide television and online programming to supplement classroom learning.

Listen:

The "on-demand" service is free for Comcast Digital subscribers.

Senior Vice President of Comcast in Indiana Scott Tenney drove the creation of the partnership while thinking about his son, who has a mild form of autism. He says Discovery and the History Channel helped his child grow academically.

The programming meets state and federal education standards and will be updated monthly for parents to share with their kids.

Comcast subscribers can access programming by clicking the on-demand button on a remote and selecting Education under the "Get Local" section. It's also available online at learningondemand.com/comcast.

Lt. Governor Becky Skillman and state schools superintendent Tony Bennett help launch the service Monday morning at the statehouse at 11:30.
