Ft. Wayne Attorney Announces Bid for Congress

A Fort Wayne attorney announced his candidacy for Congress Tuesday.

Republican Phil Troyer plans on challenging incumbent U.S. Congressman Mark Souder in the 2010 Republican primary.

Troyer says the bailout was part of the problem, but it goes way beyond that. Troyer is a former aid to U.S. Senators Dan Coats and Richard Lugar.

This marks Troyer’s second run for the seat. He was upset in the 1992 primary by businessman Chuck Pierson.

Troyer is the second candidate to announce a primary challenge to Souder, joining tea party activist Rachel Grubb.
