Ballard: I'll Sell Indianapolis at Super Bowl
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard leaves the icy weather for the big game in Dallas.
Ballard took a flight from Indianapolis International Airport to the Dallas-Fort Worth area Thursday afternoon. He's joining a delegation of about 80 city and business leaders for Super Bowl festivities.
Ballard says the trip is more about business than pleasure, and he plans to meet with corporate leaders in hopes of bringing jobs to the Circle City.
"I really want to sell Indianapolis," Ballard said.
The mayor says he's not worried about next year's Super Bowl in Indianapolis being spoiled by a winter storm.
"People can walk around. It's all connected up downtown. We're going to reemphasize that point."
Gov. Mitch Daniels, Commerce Secretary Mitch Roob, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Chief Paul Ciesielski, Fire Chief Brian Sanford and Homeland Security Chief Gary Coons also were scheduled to arrive in Dallas Thursday.
