Super Bowl XLVI is still seven months away, but now football fans get can get the gear before the big game.
Despite the current NFL lockout, the Colts unveiled the first wave of official merchandise for Super Bowl XLVI Wednesday.
Dave Moroknek with MainGate, says there's something on sale for everyone. “Right now it's going to start local because it means the most to Indianapolis. As we build the line we want to build it up with momentum leading up to the game. What you see here is kind of the introductory line, with price points from $3 all the way up to $100,” Moroknek said. “But as we get closer to the game we have plans to bring in new merchandise every month."
MainGate officials say they aren't concerned about the lockout extending into the season. They're unveiling merchandise on schedule and planning for the season to be played on time.
Currently the Colts pro shops online, at Lucas Oil Stadium and Circle Center Mall are the only places to get the official Super Bowl Merchandise.
Tim Cone is a football fan visiting Indianapolis from California. He says Super Bowl apparel might be the closest most fans will ever get to the big game.
"The average person can't afford a Super Bowl ticket. That's too bad. They're bickering over money. Why don't they give it back to the fans instead of worrying about the 90 million themselves or what ever they're bickering over," Cone said before taking a tour of Lucas Oil Stadium.
